OK, so it is not really a question that I get asked the most; that question is what is the best affordable ergonomic chair?
Well seeing as I have already answered that one, I thought I would answer the question of the best massage seat that money can buy.
This is in part because I want to help everyone who emails me, and partly because I am in place called Udon Thani, Thailand with my wife and got to test an amazing Sanyo massage chair.
This particular reflexology seat was really fantastic; seriously amazing, but I will not be using it for this review because after s bit of digging around; I found out that this particular stool is an Asia specific (regional) massage chair and most of my loyal readers come from the good Ol’ USA.
In order to help you decide on the best reflexology recliner for your aching bones; I will review 3 of the top rated massage chairs available.
Here’s the deal
I know that most of my readers are either interested in the best that money can buy, or just want something that does its job without breaking the bank and as a result, I will show you the best affordable relaxing stool, the best average priced relaxation chair and then the best overall reflexology chair that money can buy.
I must pre warn you that because Ergonomic Health takes reviewing very seriously and I don’t want to offer you just any old, cheap and nasty products.
I have done a lot of research to find you the best massage chairs in a range of prices, but from this research I have found that you just cannot buy a decent reflexology chair for cheap.
You can buy the cheap sub-priced, electric massage things that you just throw onto any random chair, but in my experience, these things can do more harm than good.
This means that the “affordable” recliner I review is still priced quite highly. However this means that you are getting a great massage recliner that will last, ease your muscles, correct your posture and get you feeling relaxed for a long time!
With that out of the way, let’s get to it…
Best Massage Chair Under $1,000
OK, so this one is actually the “budget” massager stool, but like said previously; there is not such thing as a cheap electric massage recliner, unless you really don’t care about the quality.

What is a Zero Gravity Chair Used for?
Essentially, zero gravity chairs are used for a different reason to massage chairs.
They are also known as inversion tables, and they are used to help a range of symptoms.
You can see the full benefit of inversion tables here.
History of the Electric Message Chair
The shiatsu massage chair was first introduced on the consumer market during the late 1980’s.
Intended to emulate the motions and techniques of a real masseuse, the objective of top rated electric massager stool was to relieve stress & tension, as well as alleviating back ache, (especially in the lumbar region).
Although message seats were initially slow-moving and didn’t catch on at the speed of some other consumer goods; after a decade or possibly even longer, interest in the technology increased massively spurring competitors to strive to create the best models and research into more advanced technology.
What Are The Benefits Of A Massage Chair?
In order to answer this, you first need to understand how they work:
Massage therapy Techniques
Currently, the most effective reflexology techniques that electric reflexology stools are designed to to involve the eponymous Shiatsu and Swedish styles.
Shiatsu massage tends make use of:
The defining quality of Shiatsu is its focus on releasing tension around specific locations of the body.
Swedish reflexology mainly involve long gliding strokes and kneading.
This type of message aims at fostering proper and strong blood circulation.
What is the bottom line?
Well, a mechanical substitute can never reproduce the exact feeling of human touch.
However, the more these companies invest in research, the more designers have been able to closely approximate the necessary factors in an electric reflexology recliner.
In my opinion, the main benefits of a reflexology chair lie in the fact that you can use it whenever you want to without having to worry about cost or traveling to and from a masseuse parlor.
Can Reflexology Chairs Aid Back Pain? Here Are 4 Ways How:
When it comes to back pain, there are many different ways that you can deal with it.
The bottom line is back pain is often symptomatic of problems that have nothing to do with the back, but different areas of the body, and helping these different areas often alleviates back pain.
So, if you can solve your back pain problems without having to have invasive surgery that results in a loss of range of motion, how quickly would you get a reflexology chair that aids back pain instead of surgery?
The reality is many doctors are too quick to refer you to surgery and after that surgery, there is no chance that you will ever move or feel the same way again.
The rehab is long and arduous, and many times you will have to go back in for even more surgeries. This is not a way to live.
Many times, people who were once health but had a twinge of pain are reduced to feeble versions of themselves with their once active lives as something that will never be re-acquired.
Now, how would you feel if you knew that one simple, easy way to resolve your back pain with a simple chair?
Sounds good, right?
If all you needed to do was sit, then it’s not exactly like someone is asking you to do something that is beyond your capabilities.
Reflexology seats understand the structure of the body and use it to align your body properly so that your back is not wrenched after sitting in a chair for a period of time.
Ultimately, there are many benefits of a reflexology device.
Here are some of the most prominent ways that reflexology chairs aid back pain:
Reflexology chairs are designed with the proper spinal alignment in mind.
Many times when you sit in a chair the chair is designed for another purpose besides supporting you while you sit. Reflexology chairs let your body sit the way it is supposed to sit.
When it comes to the choice between paying for a surgery or paying for a reflexology chair, the choice couldn’t be simpler.
Especially in the United States, where these procedures are unreasonably expensive, getting a reflexology chair means that you are going for a modality that is less invasive and less costly.
When you have back surgery your back is opened up and your discs are trimmed and in some cases removed and vertebrae is fused.
Now, when it comes to this, it means that you will have nearly a year of recovery and rehab.
Also, you will have severe restrictions on what you can do. When you have a reflexology chair, this means you will avoid all that nonsense and gain your life back.
Instead of having to listen to doctor orders that keep you from living the life you want to live, reflexology chairs allow you to be the person that you want to be and live the life that you want to live
Essentially, having a reflexology chair allows you to live a life of freedom from pain without having to endure costly and miserable surgeries.
3 Things to Look for a High Quality Massage Chair
Massage chairs are impeccable devices that can offer you tremendous relief from the various aches and pains that accompany you throughout the day.
There are many reasons why people select massage chairs, and when you decided to invest the considerable money it takes to get high quality massage chairs, you want to be sure that your purchase was not in vain.
Because you are investing a lot of money in these massage chairs, it is important that you know what to look for in these chairs, especially what types there are.
The first thing to think about before you ever decide that you are going to purchase a massage chair is your budget, and when you consider your budget, it is important to sift through various options.
Many people will say that you can’t get a good massage chair for a cheap price but that is incredibly short sighted.
The reality is great chairs come at all price ranges and it is incumbent upon you to do a good job of finding a great chair at a good price.
This is not as difficult as it seems, if nothing else, all you need to do is keep looking through reviews and finding out exactly what your priorities are.
Besides taking budget into account, there are some other things that you need to be aware of before you decide to purchase a massage chair.
Here is a list of the three most important considerations for people like you who are seeking to get the best massage chair:
The worst thing about massage chairs is that the engine that can die on you after a few uses.
The reality is you need to review which chairs offer the best durability. Having a massage chair that dies is simply pointless, so be sure that you verify that your massage chair is well-regarded for its durability.
When it comes to making sure that your massage chair is right, you need to know exactly how much space you need for this particular chair.
On the bigger chair, the space requirements alone could be a non-starter for getting a chair.
Be sure that you know exactly what you need and make sure that your space is properly outfitted for the massage chair.
Area of Your Body Needing Massage
Perhaps you are someone who has a lower back issue or maybe you are someone who needs your neck worked on.
Know which part of your body is causing you the most pain is imperative. Be sure that you just don’t buy a chair because you like the design or features.
For example, if you have leg pain, buying an ottoman massage chair defeats the purpose of alleviating that pain
Ultimately, buying a massage chair is an important purchase because getting it right means that you have found a way to relieve the pain that no one should have to live with.
Do your due diligence on these devices, and you will find that your effort has been greatly rewarded.
